This full time role is specifically designed for young people who wish to pursue a career in the rewarding world of early learning and childcare.
You will be employed within a nursery for the duration of your qualification, earning a weekly wage and learning the skills required to be a childcare practitioner. Your apprenticeship is fully funded by Skills Development Scotland and you will achieve an SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) (SCQF level 7).
To help you develop Working, training and learning from skilled and qualified practitioners in the busy environment of a nursery setting, you will develop over the time the knowledge and skills required to become a childcare practitioner.
You will gain the practical skills while developing your theoretical knowledge in a nursery environment.
Your day will involve working within a playroom as part of a team.
Through your qualification you will gain knowledge and experience of all ages of children from babies to school age children in our out of school care.
You will be learning and delivering high quality learning and childcare to children in your care. As a trainee practitioner you will be required to ensure that children are well cared for and nurtured, as well as developing learning opportunities to encourage their physical, emotional, intellectual, communication and social skills. You will design and offer quality learning experiences that meet the age and stage of each child's development. You will learn how to use all statutory and regulatory guidance required by practitioners and early learning and childcare settings.
Daily duties may include personal care, mealtimes, play based learning activities, observing and assessing children's stage of learning and engaging with both children and parents.

No experience is necessary.
We require you to have 2 qualifications at National 5 level or equivalent (including English). National 4 English may be considered.
The successful candidates should have a desire to work with children ensuring they receive a quality care and learning experience, they should possess a positive and enthusiastic nature and be willing to learn.
