Our client, a leading company in the shipping and freight management industry, is looking for a Logistics Assistant to join their growing company. The position is within a new department of the company that has been created due to ongoing expansion. You will initially cover all areas of admin & logistical support, with a view to developing the role into one a career can be built around.
The main duties for this job role include, but are not limited to: Tracking Containers on company system, Updating data systems, Checking supplier websites, Writing emails to suppliers, Creating records as well as other general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning etc.
During the first 12 months of employment you will be working towards a Business Administration SVQ Level 3. As well as this you will have the opportunity to go on courses run by the British International Freight Association, as part of your ongoing development. This role is designed to be one that will give the right candidate the opportunity to build a career and develop within the business.
There are no set requirements for this role as the company are looking for someone with the right attitude and work ethic that will match the companies investment in them. English and Maths at National 5 are preferred but not essential. Good computer skills would also be desirable as there will be a number of different programs used day-to-day.
