This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with an interest for both PR and Administration. Working as an Apprentice Communications and PR Administrator within a large Legal firm offers a brilliant platform for the successful candidate to kick-start an exciting career in PR & Communications.
As well as entering full-time employment, you will undertake a Modern Apprenticeship Programme delivered by GP Strategies, Training Provider of the Year 2018, resulting in the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification.
As an Apprentice Communications and PR Administrator, you will be an important member of the Business Development & Marketing team and will play an integral role in supporting the busy communications team.
This is a varied and exciting role involving a wide-range of roles and responsibilities. You will be supported by members of the Business Development & Marketing team throughout your Apprenticeship and will be involved in the following tasks and duties:
• Supporting the creation and distribution of internal newsletters and updates
Media Relations and PR
• Manage daily news headlines round-up
• Manage media databases
• Source press cuttings and create coverage reports
• Manage weekly press columns
• Support writing press releases
• Liaise with third parties on advertising opportunities
• Share opportunities with internal teams
• Manage advertising schedule
• Assisting with proof-reading
• Co-ordinating meetings – preparing agendas
• Competitor analysis and sector research
• Invoicing and general administration
Upon completion of the Apprenticeship role and securing a full-time position within the business, there will be a number of career progression paths available to you.
Modern Apprenticeship Programme:
The successful candidate will undertake a Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration. You will work towards the achievement of a nationally recognised Business Administration Diploma (SCQF 6). You will be supported throughout your apprentice journey by a dedicated GP Strategies Assessor.
Upon completion of the Apprenticeship Programme, there will be career progression opportunities for you as well as further scope for training and development.

We are looking to hear from candidates who can demonstrate a keen interest in PR and administration and a willingness to learn. The position would potentially suit someone with some prior work experience in an office-based role, however this is not essential.
Due to the nature of the positon, it is essential that you are a confident, motivated and enthusiastic person who is flexible and proactive in your work approach. Furthermore, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbally and written.
Finally, you must have strong organisational and time management skills in order to manage your workload successfully and complete tasks on time.
