Sixth Sense Training is currently seeking ambitious candidates (16-19, we welcome applicants from aged 16-29 if you are care experienced or a person with a disability) to fill an Office Administration Apprenticeship we have located in Darnley, Glasgow. A great opportunity for a successful candidate to work while being trained in a Level 3 Business and Administration SVQ.

Working in a fast-paced office environment. Being second in line to answer the phone and process orders from customers. Dealing with office admin – scanning, filing. Must be very adaptable to change, an effective communicator and computer literate with word and excel. Be able to use their own initiative and take instruction from others. We are a very friendly team and we are looking for someone to fit in and be committed to the job.

Our client is an independent distributor of Hygiene and Packaging Disposables to various industries within Scotland. Situated on the south side of Glasgow (Darnley) and are looking for a new individual to join our team on a permanent part-time basis.

Please note that the job role will evolve over time, therefore, applicants must expect a degree of flexibility within the role. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. The role is office-based due to encrypted and secure computer software systems and telephone lines.

What will I learn?

Tasks include: handling and maintaining customer accounts, order processing, establishing filing systems, handling customer queries and other general office-based tasks.

Your training will start with a 6-12 months apprenticeship, which consists of learning on the job, as well as our custom-built E-Learning platform. You will develop all the skills you need to pass your work-based assessments. Our assessors are available to provide one-to-one support and will work with your line manager to ensure you settle into your new role.

You will gain an SVQ which is a Nationally recognised qualification and may be used to gain employment and further your career in Office Administration

What qualification or qualities are required?

Applicants must have a good level of IT skills and be able to communicate confidently, effectively and professionally on the phone and via email. It is vital that the individual does not feel intimidated in high-pressure situations. The candidate must be able to work unsupervised and have the following skills:

Is confident and is able to ensure sensitive customer account information is kept within the work environment.
Adherence to Data Protection
A professional telephone manner
Has a direct approach in particular in discussing sensitive account information with Customers that have arrears on accounts.
Can establish payment plans and review weekly
Ability to plan and prioritise own workload with management to oversee and input
Good time management skills.
Good administrative/clerical skills.
Good written and oral communications.
Experience of general administration.

Please note all candidates must be able to commute to Darnley every Tuesday - Friday.
