Azilo Training gained accreditation from Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) we deliver the SVQ Level 3 and Level 4 in Social Services Children and Young People. All our candidates benefit from the support of a one to one assessor who will support and guide you through your Modern Apprenticeship Programme allowing you to Qualify as a childcare practitioner.

Candidates will use a e-portfolio system making training accessible and efficient and will be provided with a range of free reference materials.

This everyday opportunity is for a full time trainee childcare assistant based in a well-established nursery setting. You will be learning all aspects of childcare practice.

This is a full time position Monday to Friday working 40 hours per week.

Your role within the nursery establishment will include:

Supporting the children in all stages of their development

Providing a range of play opportunities

Providing sensory activities and opportunists

Encouraging children to be expressive

Encouraging independence / self-regulation / imaginative play

Supporting children to risk assess their own play and problem solve

Supporting and extending children's learning

Interacting with parents / families / other professionals

Observing and recording children's play and linking it to stages of development / curriculum / SHANARRI

Using GIRFEC to provide equity for all children

Organising outings for children to experience their local community

What will I learn?

In this role you will become effective at all childcare practice including the Curriculum and Government guidance that is important to child's development. You will become aware of Health and Safety matters including Child Protection.

What qualification or qualities are required?

Applications welcomed from candidates who passes three National 5's or three standard grades at Level 4 or above (one must be English) or Intermediate levels will be accepted. Exceptions may be made if applicants can demonstrate their practical abilities in this field.
