As an apprentice you will be working towards becoming an Accounts Assistant which supports the Accounts function in all aspects of dealership accounts. This includes: banking and allocation of receipts, sales and vehicle ledger, credit control, purchase ledger reconciliation and balance sheet controls. Assisting in Vehicle Admin, with bringing cars into stock, invoice cars out, stock reconciliation. The role holder will also assist in processing colleague expense claims, providing purchase ledger cover, providing assistance in the preparation of management accounts as well as additional ad-hoc duties.
You will be working towards understanding Vertu’s policies and procedures, in order to manage and process accounts orders and paperwork. You must ensure that all paperwork follows and complies with Group policy and also ensure its accuracy and legibility. The Accounts Assistant is fully responsible for communicating all concerns and keeping up-to-date on all new processes and procedures. The role holder will also efficiently handle administration related issues, in addition to reviewing and managing all appropriate system and non-system generated schedules and reports.
As with all positions within dealerships, Accounts Assistants are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.
Accounts Team Support & Communication: To provide a positive and active support function to facilitate the accounts/admin team in their achievement of targets.
Data Management: To accurately manage and input data into the Kerridge system and provide accurate information to Management.
Document Management: To accurately manage and co-ordinate the distribution of documents within the Dealership.
We will support you in the first year of your journey while leaning your new skills and you will undertake a MA in Business and Administration SCQF Level 6. Following on from this qualification, we will support you while you go through an AAT qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians) giving you a recognised Accountancy qualification in your career
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
