To assist in the development of the Corporate Youth Work agenda in Perth and Kinross. This agenda has a focus on making positive change for local care experienced young people (12-25). Care experience can include foster care, kinship care, residential care, secure care and being looked after home.
To support the delivery and facilitation of the Perth and Kinross Corporate Parenting Plan as part of a local team consistent with the principles and policy statements of Perth and Kinross Council and Education and Children's Services
Support the delivery of delegated community learning services as agreed with line manager and detailed in personal job targets.
Support the undertaking of face to face educational work with identified individuals or groups within a defined community such as care experienced young people.
Support the engagement within the care experienced community to identify potential areas of active learning and to explore all opportunities for educational activities.
Support the delivery of services as agreed in personal job targets.
Assist in collecting data for community profiles and analysis of learning needs of groups and individuals.
Support the promotion of the work of Services for Young People and the local team through fieldwork practice, local publicity and the provision of high quality programmes and by other appropriate means.
Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and reviewing of the work of the team as part of the ongoing quality assurance framework.
Adhere to local and divisional office procedures.
Submit regular returns in respect of hours of work, overtime, annual leave and sickness absence.
Prepare and submit statistical returns and other information as required.
Follow copyright regulations when preparing and reproducing learning materials.
Ensure all administrative and financial procedures are adhered to as outlined in the Services' Admin manual.
Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of using Microsoft office software.
Previous work experience would be an advantage.
Have good numeracy skills.
Have an understanding of the purpose of Perth and Kinross Council.
Willing to deal with a variety of customers, both face-to-face and over the telephone in a manner which meets the Council's Customer Care Standards.
Able to cope with the demands of the job and attend on a regular basis.
Willing to undertake Health & Safety training relevant to the post.
Be able to follow and comply with procedures when dealing with sensitive and confidential information in order to comply with the Data Protection Act.
Have good written and verbal communication skills.
