The role of Pipeworker involves working from Isometric drawings, to fabricate, install and test various pipe systems on board our products. You will gain experience in using a wide variety of tools and equipment. You will learn to use equipment safely and efficiently to deliver pipe systems to the highest degree of quality.
As a Pipeworker, you will manufacture and install pipe spool systems ranging from drainage systems to main engine fuel lines, whether it's pre-fabricating pipe spools in a fabrication work shop or installing pipe lines to suit the situation on board the ship. You'll be trained to read and understand different types of Engineering documentation including Isometric drawings and technical information provided by the design team. You will work alongside other trade disciplines such as Engineers and Welders to produce finished components for ship delivery, connecting piping efficiently and safely, often in difficult conditions and will learn to use equipment safely and gain additional experience in welding processes by using T.I.G welding.
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
