Spirit is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of complex structures for the aerospace industry.
You will be joining the team at the Prestwick site, which employs around 900 people, and is where the assembly of wing packages for the Airbus A320 family, Airbus A350 XWB and the Boeing 767 takes place.
Spirit is currently growing our work content with the addition of a new composite work package for Airbus A320 spoilers. Additionally, 2021 will bring the opening of a new Aerospace Innovation Centre at Prestwick to increase the Company’s capabilities within Research and Technology.
The Prestwick Craft Apprenticeship Programme involves both on the job training and study at college. The programme takes around 4 years to complete and could be the start of a rewarding career where you will be truly a part of the team.

1st Year - Term time attendance at Ayrshire College – Ayr campus to complete SVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations along with an NC or HNC depending on academic attainment at the start of the apprenticeship.
2nd – 4th Year - Aircraft Specific Training on site and at college:
• On-the-job Training SVQ Level 3
• Rotate within departments to cover trade & technical skills
• HNC in Aircraft Engineering
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
By August 2021, applicants must be able to demonstrate ONE the following entry options fully:
Option A:
Nat 5 English
Nat 5 Maths
Plus ONE of the following:
Nat 5 Physics
Nat 5 Practical Metalworking
Nat 5 Design & Manufacture
(all at grade A-C)
Option B:
Foundation Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering
Option C:
PEO Aeronautical Engineering
Plus minimum of:
Nat 4 English
Nat 4 Maths
Plus ONE of the Following:
Nat 4 Physics
Nat 4 Practical Metalworking
Nat 4 Design & Manufacture
