Apply on company siteAs part of our Undergraduate Development programme you will study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. You’ll be based in our Edinburgh office within the Highways team and attend Edinburgh Napier University over a 5-6 year period on a block or day release basis or through blended learning.

Your role will be varied and your learning will be fast paced - one day can be completely different to the next.
You will have the opportunity to learn new skills using specialist software suited to the area of the business you are working in. You may be involved in assisting in the development of highways designs, drawing production, geometrical modelling and BIM. You will work as part of a design team learning design principles and standards and the use of appropriate software, helping to deliver quality projects for our clients. Where possible you will get the opportunity to visit site and see the projects you’ve been working on, coming to life.
You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you successfully achieve your apprenticeship.
As this is a permanent position, after gaining your degree, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to gain Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, as well as the chance to study towards a Masters degree.
• A minimum of four SQA Highers at Grade BBBC (including Maths) plus Nat 5 English at B.
• A Foundation Apprenticeship in a related discipline plus suitable academic qualifications.
• A Modern Apprenticeship or college qualification in in a related discipline
• You'll have five National 5 qualifications including Maths, English and Science grade C and above (with at least a B in Maths for Engineering)
