Dental surgery nursing involves cross infection control and cleaning plus assisting the dentist chairside. Helping the patient to be comfortable during dental treatment.
This involves mixing materials and handing them to the dentist and ensuring patient comfort by aspirating water spray and keeping the mouth clear of debris. Between appointments, you will be cleaning and sterilising instruments in the surgery and Local Decontamination Unit using the washer disinfector and autoclaves as part of the process of cross infection control. You will be charting dental records and ensuring accurate computer notes and treatments are recorded. Care of patients and their wellbeing is in your remit.

You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
Nat 5 qualifications. English and Numeracy skills.
Neat and tidy person with a caring nature and a willingness to learn and to help patients and colleagues.
Basic computer skills are helpful.
Communication skills are required for helping colleagues and patients
