The Faculty of Science is currently looking for a Modern Apprentice (MA) to support the development and delivery of our Online Learning programmes at the University of Strathclyde
The Faculty is recognised nationally and internationally for its excellence in teaching, research and knowledge exchange and has a strong track record of developing and delivering high quality teaching and learning programmes. Having developed a range of new programmes to include more online/blended learning, we are now seeking to grow the team to expand our capabilities and support our existing activities.
The post holder will work alongside professional services and academic teaching staff, supporting them with creative skills using digital and creative media to develop classes and learning resources. Your work will primarily be dedicated to supporting Online Learning class resource development through video content but may also include activities such as virtual learning environment and website development.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills and experience in digital and creative media.
You will learn to use and develop creative & digital media to enhance online learning class and activity content
Learn to use webinar software for use with tutorials, hangouts
You will provide audio, visual and video conferencing support
You will assist in supporting activities and events such as studio filming sessions and on location when required
Once familiar with systems you will provide ongoing support, maintenance and guidance in relation to creative and digital media software provision and usage.
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
You will have:
Minimum of 4 Nat 5’s ( or equivalent ) at A,B, or C pass that includes English, Maths and Computing or related subject
An understanding of creative and digital media
Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills
Good and familiarity with MS Windows and other computer OS
Good photography, videography and digital media editing software and AV skills
An ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
