Job description:
The primary purpose of the Loch Goil and Loch Fyne noise ranges is to measure and analyse the noise radiated through the hull from both submarine and surface vessels.

Also available at Loch Goil is the Maytime floating laboratory which can be used for a variety of waterborne experiments, trials and calibration.
In total we have 19 staff based at Loch Goil. This number can more than double during trials.

Our Marine and Engineering teams also support the measurement of electromagnetic signature at our Rosneath and Barons Point facilities.

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working outdoors on practical tasks and in the marine environment. Marine and practical related hobby would be an advantage.

Together with your formal education we will train you in;

Crewing and operating our workboat and other small boats,
forklift truck and crane operations,
towing trailers.

After you complete your apprenticeship we will provide further training and development in your role as one of the marine team at Loch Goil and once you have completed the required training and experience we would support you in attaining your Boat-master qualification. This will enable you to conduct the lead marine support role during trials.

What will I learn?

What qualification or qualities are required?

Required:

YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE.

• National 5 in Maths, English Language, IT
