Participate and contribute as part of an operational squad of employees (variable number) ensuring safety, maximise the use of available resources and to ensure that Stirling Council’s contractual objectives are met.
To obtain a Modern Apprenticeship in Road Building and Maintenance SCQF Level 5.
To carry out all tasks appropriate with the grade and skill level of the post, and learn how undertake a variety of roadbuilding and maintenance tasks including: laying kerbs and channels, street ironwork, manual road building, traffic management, etc..
To learn how to maximise the utilisation of plant, equipment and labour resources allocated by Roads supervisor.
To assist the Roads Foreman/Supervisor to effectively and efficiently deliver construction works.
To learn how to ensure operations are carried out in a safe, effective and efficient manner for all areas of responsibility and promote the delivery of Stirling Council’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
To assist in promoting good work practices and contribute to improving the Roads and Land Service.
To carry out other duties appropriate with the grading of the post.
