Job overview

Are you looking for an Engineering career working for a company who are at the forefront of Pump repairs, service, maintenance and installation projects?

We are offering an accredited training programme in the form of an Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship and are looking to recruit one candidate to join our team in August 2022.

Our Apprenticeship Scheme is four years in duration and includes both practical training and further education.

What will I learn?

As you progress through the programme, you will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate the knowledge and skills that you will gain from working closely with our experienced engineers on site, whilst attending college on day release to achieve academic qualifications.

You’ll attain base engineering skills in the form of a SVQ Level 2 and 3 and Higher Diploma / NC. Over a period of 4 years you will mix attending college and working at our Edinburgh workshop and various sites gaining hands on experience.

Development and Progress.
To undertake a range of tasks suited to the current level of training and development.
To attend college and complete course work on time and to a high standard.
To produce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off of log books.
To take on additional responsibility in Years 3 & 4 of Apprenticeship.
To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time.
To understand and comply with policies and procedures.
To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
To comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
To attend and fully participate regular training and development reviews with line management, mentor, HR representatives and Training Department.
To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.

Skills you’ll develop include:
- Mechanical applications and solutions.
- Electrical wiring, testing and installation.
- Electrical Control Systems

What qualification or qualities are required?

You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement

• A minimum of National 5 qualification in Maths, English and a Science
• Lots of enthusiasm and self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills .
• An interest in learning mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering
