Learning both in the workplace and at a College/Private Training Provider you will work towards achieving a Level 3 Scottish Vocational Qualification in Vehicle Refinishing. This job is ideally suited for someone that would enjoy working in a practical hands on environment.
Following and meeting the manufactures specifications, a qualified Vehicle Painter applies paint and finishes to a vehicle which has recently been repaired.
You will Learn how to recognise and use the various materials used on vehicles and the preparation that is required to be done to the vehicle before applying the various paints and materials.
With the training you will receive both in the workplace and off the job you will learn all of the skills that you require to become a fully qualified Vehicle Paint Technician (Vehicle Refinisher).
Preparing Vehicles to be painted after the damage has occurred or panels have been replaced, this can include repairing minor scratches, stone chips, minor dents, top coat contamination.
Masking out areas to be repaired/painted, applying primers, selecting, mixing and matching top coat materials.
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
You will hopefully be working towards or have gained National 4/5 in Maths, English and a Technical Subject or a Science.
