Our client, who is a digital business consultant, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their expanding team of online learning specialists. The role of Junior Content Creator will provide content design and improvement support for projects, across all subject areas in the organisation.

The Junior Content Creator will work closely with the Director to gain and learn design and content production skills for supporting assigned online learning and digital consultancy projects. Initially, this role will be supported directly by the Director, with a view to ultimately delegate full responsibility for content design on projects. The role is diverse in nature: from planning and documentation, copyediting and media design, to content population of courses, allocated as appropriate by the Director.

Organisation relationships

Report directly to the Director. Close working with the project lead of assigned projects, production team and contractors. Initially an internal-facing role, with ultimate progression towards outward-facing duties, i.e. direct contact with clients.

What will I learn?

Review, feedback, and edit (when appropriate) provided copy and scripts for improved communication.
Review existing course content, in alignment with learning objectives, to identify areas for improvement.
Work with subject matter experts to identify ways to best communicate learning content.
To create engaging learning activities and resources, aligned with the learning objectives of a course.
Create visualisations of learning concepts for inclusion in content and standardise outputs, as required.
Support the in-course population and testing phases of projects, as required.
Cultivate an understanding of good online pedagogies to apply to online learning projects.
Any other duties relating specifically and directly to learning design projects, as supported by the Director.

Your training will start with a Digital Marketing Modern Apprenticeship and progress onto a final apprenticeship programme in Creative Media, completion will approximately take 18 months. They consist of learning on the job, as well as our custom-built E-Learning platform. You will develop all the skills you need to pass your work-based assessments. Our assessors are available to provide one-to-one support and will work with your line manager to ensure you settle into your new role.

You will gain one Diploma in Digital Marketing and one Diploma in Creative Media which are Nationally recognised qualifications and may be used to gain employment and further your career in Digital and creative content creation.

What qualification or qualities are required?

Essential:

Enjoy visual communication and engagement with mixed media, particularly with interest in visual design.
Comfortable working with different digital environments.
Open to learning new things and skills, and willing to experiment with different platforms.
Comfortable working with different digital environments and cloud-based tools.
Thrive in mixed working environments - large collaborative teams and independent working.
Must be organised and likes organising things neatly and consistently, e.g. naming conventions on folders/can show examples of digital creativity or willing to talk through how you would approach a design-based task
The ability to multitask and keep on top of complex, distributed projects (both geographical and across digital platforms) is essential.

Desirable:

A passion for online learning.
Experience with online courses, either through study or development.
