Schuh- Fort Kinnaird
Schuh are looking for a trainee manager for their busy store in Fort Kinnaird, this is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to continue to grow within the retail sector and further developing their skills and knowledge while leading a team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Develop the ability to be effective when managing the sales floor by
leading by example in all aspects of customer service. Influence sales
through an active management presence on the sales floor, move fast
& react quickly to customers’ needs.
• Understand & promote the necessity to listen to what the customer
needs, be helpful & always exceed their expectations.
• Be able to complete customer service reviews & deliver the feedback
session with the member of staff focusing attentions around the schuh
service values.
• Drive and encourage the team to do well by offering regular feedback
on performance; learn and understand how to “one minute manage”
the team.
• Build your product knowledge, show what you know and ask others to
do the same.
• Work together as a team, care & respect one another and extend this
to our customers.
• Use complaints and returns as an opportunity to provide excellent
service & best demonstrate customer led decision making.
• Make your behaviour a positive example for others - be professional.
• Develop the ability to motivate and encourage the team.
• Promote a positive attitude and display a visible enthusiasm at all
times. Ask your team to choose the right attitude.
• Understand that “behaviour breeds behaviour” and, as Managers, we
influence, motivate and seek high levels of enthusiasm in the store.
• Seek opportunities to gain experience in the area of Recruitment,
Selection and Induction focusing on desirable attributes such as
personality & individuality.
• Build experience in general by broadening the range of tasks you are i
involved in. Listen carefully to comment from others including
customers and learn from your mistakes.
Product Management
• Begin to use and analyse the main commercial reports as part of your
product management routine.
• Understand how store and company best sellers are displayed
commercially and make the most of all opportunities to try this for
yourself.
• React positively to the arrival of new styles by ensuring
representation of fresh product in the window.
• Ensure essential daily/weekly tasks such as lines sold, option checks
and best sellers are completed on time.
• Develop the skills to plan and execute sales floor layout changes.
• Learn the basics of the stock management operation and understand
the effect this has on sales through the till.
The successful candidate will be working towards achieving their Retail management SCQF 6 qualification
Customer service skills.
Previous retail experience.
Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure.
The ability to work well with others.
Excellent Leadership skills.
Good communication skills
