As a Retail Apprentice Team Manager at Matalan, you’ll be a key role model in our stores, showcasing our Matalan Values and behaviours whilst optimising sales and leading a high performing, energetic and adaptable team.

You’ll be coaching and motivating team members as an integral part of the store management team.

You’ll also have responsibility for the running of the store in the absence of the Store Manager and will use feedback from customers to create a great shopping experience.

What will I learn?

Along with full inhouse training you will be working towards a Retail SCQF L7 Management qualification.
This qualification is for candidates working within the retail
industry who have more experience, are in a role with more
responsibility or have been identified as individuals with the
potential to progress within the organisation. This qualification covers areas such as stock management,
finance, planning, and organisation. The wide range of
optional units reflects the diversity of the sector and the
multi-channel nature of the modern retail business.

What qualification or qualities are required?

To be part of our team, we’d like you to....

Have aspirations to secure a long term career in Retail
Experience in a Fashion or Homeware environment, ideally as a Keyholder or holding Manager
Confident communicator who understands how to engage and motivate others
Good understanding of Visual Merchandising (VM)
Proven ability to identify sales opportunities and drive new ideas
Knowledge of operational processes and procedures within retail while remaining conscious of costs
Be able to work under pressure and be adaptable to change
