From skyscrapers to statues, the world is filled with amazing structures. This Technical Apprenticeship is ideal for anyone who wants to contribute to Scotland’s landscape and progress in their construction career.
Develop your leadership skills to give you the confidence to manage your own team. Learn what it takes to manage an entire construction site and be a well-respected leader. Help to plan the development of a new school and decide what kind of material will be used.
With this apprenticeship, you’ll learn the skills to help you progress to a managerial role in the construction industry. The skills you’ve learned could be passed on to other people and help grow their career.
You will gain a Technical Apprenticeship in Construction at SCQF Level 9 or 11.

Your qualification includes:
Construction: Technical Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 9 including Construction topics such as: Building and Civil Engineering, Highways Maintenance, Residential Development or Quantity Surveying
Construction: Technical Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 11 including Construction topics such as: Building and Civil Engineering, Highways Maintenance, Residential Development or Quantity Surveying
During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:
manage construction sites
develop strong bonds with co-workers
survey building environments
carry out best safety practices
maintain a safe road environment
You’ll also develop the following core skills:
teamwork
time management
communication
problem-solving
These transferable skills are useful for working in other jobs such as roofing and insulation work.
This Technical Apprenticeship gives you a range of options. You could carry on your studies with a construction degree or move to a management job.
Further education: Choose to gain another qualification by studying for a degree in specialist construction. Your experience will support your university application.
Straight to work: You could use your knowledge and become a construction site manager. The sector is versatile and there are many pathways available.

How does it work?
You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider.
How long will it take?
This Technical Apprenticeship will take 12 to 24 months to complete.
