This apprenticeship will teach you unique skills such as how to repair classic cars and fit specialist equipment. The knowledge you gain will help in your job search.
What's the qualification?
You’ll gain an Automotive qualification at SCQF level 5, 6 or 7.
For SCQF level 5 you’ll study either:
- vehicle maintenance and repair
- vehicle accident repair
- vehicle parts
- vehicle fitting
For SCQF level 6 you’ll study either:
- vehicle accident repair
- vehicle parts
For SCQF level 7 you’ll study:
- vehicle maintenance and repair
What will I learn?
As part of your work, you’ll learn how to:
- inspect a car
- repair the body of a vehicle
- fit different parts
- restore the paint of a vehicle
You’ll also develop the following core skills:
- time management
- working with others
- communication
- problem-solving
These skills can be transferred to different roles, like heavy vehicle work or tyre fitting.
