This apprenticeship is a great opportunity for people who are looking to improve their business awareness. If you’re a clerical assistant, the apprenticeship helps you develop your leadership skills. It could help you progress into a promoted role and take charge of the direction of a company. Administrators will learn how to run an office and take on more responsibility. You could also help others grow their own business knowledge in the future.  

The skills you’ll gain from a business administration apprenticeship are useful in many other industries and it gives you the chance to find a role you’re passionate about.  

What's the qualification?

You’ll gain a qualification in Business Administration at SCQF level 5 or 6The qualifications includes:  

  • Core units of an SVQ in Business Administration at SCQF level 5 or 6.  
  • A work placement in a fast-growing industry

During your apprenticeship. you’ll learn how to:

This apprenticeship will help you develop core skills such as:

These skills are transferable, so they can be used for different jobs such as senior receptionist or office supervisor.  


Where could it take me?

You could carry on your studies with a business degree or go into full-time work.   

Further study: You could continue to learn by studying for a business HNC or HND. Go to university and study for a degree in business relationships. Your experience will support your application.   

Straight to work: Use your qualifications and secure a business administration position. You could go on to the following jobs:  

  • Personal assistant 
  • Office supervisor 
  • Executive officer 
  • Administration team leader 
  • Administration manager 
  • Office clerk 
  • Senior secretary

Duration

This apprenticeship will take between 12-24 months to complete.
