The construction industry is a fast moving and diverse industry with my occupational routes. The Construction Industry Training Board has identified the sector as having four distinct areas: Construction Building, Construction Civil Engineering, Construction Specialist and Construction Technical and Professional. The aim of this Professional Apprenticeship is to develop talent in a range of construction occupations in order to provide the industry with a well-trained productive workforce.
You’ll gain a Professional Apprenticeship in Construction at SCQF Level 11.
As part of this apprenticeship, together with your employer you’ll select between two and five Career Skills units at SCQF Level 8 or above and achieve a minimum of 20 credits. A ‘pick and mix’ approach has been introduced to ensure that you gain the right mix of Career Skills.
There are a range of options to peruse upon completion of this apprenticeship.

There are no formal entry requirements for this framework. Achievement of academic qualifications such as Standard Grades and Highers is one way of assessing the suitability of applicants. However, each candidate will be reviewed on their own merit and employers should also be aware of newer vocational qualifications or vocational activity undertaken out with an academic institution, such as volunteering activity.
This Modern Apprenticeship will take between 12-24 months to complete.
