Description
This Technical Apprenticeship provides the skills and knowledge for your staff to become a professional in the field of data analytics, including Big Data. The apprenticeship is suitable for employees in areas such as: Business intelligence Data warehousing ETL (Extract, transform and load) Data analysis Data modelling Data mining Data(base) management
The qualification
SCQF level 8
Your employee will study for Diploma in Data Analytics at SCQF Level 8.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this apprenticeship. However, as an employer, you’ll want to make sure that candidates have the relevant skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out this type of role.
Progression and development
Once they complete this apprenticeship, your employees will be able to operate effectively in management and other senior positions. Alternatively, they could return to full-time or part-time higher education to work towards an honours or master’s degree.
Completing this Technical Apprenticeship could also count towards the membership requirements of professional bodies in the IT sector, for example, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and BCS – the Chartered Institute for IT.
How is it funded?
We contribute towards training costs
We do this by paying the learning provider directly in incremental payments throughout the course of the apprenticeship.

An enhanced funding contribution is paid for employees who are aged 16 – 19. For those who are disabled and care-experienced, this is extended up to and including age 29.

Who pays the apprentice?
Like any other employee of your business, you’ll pay the Modern Apprentice's wages. This is not set by SDS, but we do encourage all employers to pay the living wage. Remember, you must pay at least the National Minimum Wage.

It will take between 12-24 months to complete.
