You will gain a qualification at SCQF level 5 or in furniture, furnishings and interiorsThe qualifications include:  

  • Core units of aSVQ in furniture, furnishings and interiors at SCQF level or 6 
  • Work experience is a creative and versatile industry

What will I learn?

During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:   

  • Cut and assemble hand-crafted furniture 
  • Evaluate and develop own skills and expertise 
  • Improve process and quality control in a commercial environment 
  • Promote and maintain health and safety within the working environment 
  • Produce and maintain jigs and templates 
  • Apply stains, seals, basecoats and finishes to production furniture 
  • Complete high specification hand-crafted furniture

Entry requirements

Although there are no set requirements for the apprenticeship, it is good to have an interest in furniture making and design.
