What's the qualifications?

You will gain a qualification at SCQF level 5 or 6 in IT and Telecoms. The qualifications include:  

  • Core units of aSVQ in IT and Telecoms at SCQF level 5 or 6 
  • Work experience in a progressive sector

What will I learn?

During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:   

  • Manage IT and Telecoms systems 
  • Operate IT and Telecoms systems 
  • Manage software development 
  • Utilise event-driven computer programming 
  • Use object orientated computer programming 
  • Investigate and define customer requirements for IT and Telecoms systems 
  • Provide remote support for IT and Telecoms systems 
  • Carry out user profile administration 
  • Identify faults in different computer systems

There are no set requirements for the apprenticeship. However, it would be useful to have an interest in the IT and Telecoms field.   

Duration

This Modern Apprenticeship will take 12-24 months to complete.
