What's the qualification?

You will gain a qualification at SCQF level 7 in occupational health and safety practice. The qualification includes:  

  • Core units of aSVQ in occupational health and safety practice at SCQF level 7 
  • Work experience in an industry that is focused on helping others

What will I learn?

During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:   

  • Develop procedures to safely control work operations 
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture 
  • Conduct a health and safety risk assessment of a workplace 
  • Investigate and evaluate health and safety incidents and complaints at work  
  • Develop and implement the health and safety induction process

This Modern Apprenticeship gives you a variety of optionsContinue your studies with a technical apprenticeship in occupational health or go on to full-time work.   

Further education: Expand on your skills by applying for a bachelor’s degree in medical science. You could go on to study for an advanced qualification like a Masters in healthcare.
