This is your chance to be part of the first nuclear-specific Scottish Modern Apprenticeship.
Radiation protection monitors are fundamental to the nuclear sector, conducting day-to-day checks and monitoring to ensure compliance with radiation protection legislation and organisational policies in areas such as power generation, decommissioning and defence.
You'll be responsible for monitoring personnel, surface and airborne contamination levels and dose rates, recording levels detected and responding accordingly. You'll be part of your organisation's emergency response arrangements.
You will gain a Modern Apprenticeship qualification at SCQF level 5 in Radiation Protection Monitoring.

You have a range of options to explore with this Modern Apprenticeship. You could continue to study in a relevant field or you could go into full-time work.
Further education: You could carry on your studies by applying for an HNC or HND in a related discipline such as Chemistry or Science. Alternatively, you could go on to study for qualifications in a related area such as Health & Safety, Training & Development or Supervisory Management.

There are no set requirements for this apprenticeship. You should however have a safety-orientated attitude.
This Modern Apprenticeship will typically take 2 years to complete.
