What's the qualification?
You will earn a Modern Apprenticeship qualification in Water Treatment Management at either SCQF level 5 or 6. This qualification includes:
- Specialised SVQ water treatment management units, combined with basic core skills training
- Real-world industry experience in a range of work experience
What will I learn?
During your apprenticeship, you could learn how to:
- Carry out surveys of water systems
- Perform analysis of water samples
- Use chemicals and water treatment equipment to improve water safety
- Undertake risk assessments to control the spread of Legionella
- Install and maintain water service equipment

Further education: Pursue the broad range of higher-level study options available to you. These include Higher National Certificate and Diploma courses in biology and chemistry and industry-specific qualifications focused on key sector topics such as health and safety.
Straight to work: Use your water treatment management qualification to secure a job in the industry. When you have completed this apprenticeship, you could move into the following job roles:

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship at SCQF leve 5. If you're looking to study at SCQF level 6, it can be beneficial to show previous industry experience, either through a work experience placement or relevant qualifications. You can increase the likelihood of a successful application by performing well during the interview process or by providing references from former employers.
