Foundation Apprentice of the Year

Foundation Apprentice of the Year is open to Foundation Apprentices who were certificated no earlier than 01 October 2017 and due to complete no later than 30 September 2018.

This category should be completed by the learning provider, a school representative or the employer.

Question 1

Please detail the ways in which the young person has benefited from their Foundation Apprenticeship. (max 250 words)

You might want to consider including these points:

  • An outline of the skills, knowledge and competency the young person has developed since the start of their Foundation Apprenticeship.
  • How has the Foundation Apprenticeship improved their prospects of achieving a positive destination when they leave school.

Question 2

Why, in your opinion should this young person be considered for Foundation Apprentice of the Year? (max 250 words)

You might want to consider including these points:

  • Any contribution made by the Foundation Apprentice to the organisation
  • Explain how the Foundation Apprentice has applied their learning in the workplace
  • Any benefits that the employer has experienced as a result of taking on the Foundation Apprentice.
  • Evidence of how the Foundation Apprentice has exceeded the expectations of their employer.

Judges will base their decision on the individual they believe has shown the most commitment and gotten the most from taking part in a Foundation Apprenticeship.

They will be looking a professional attitude demonstrating an acute level of awareness of the business environment and how the young person demonstrates everyday leadership, demonstrating a positive attitude to learning in college, work experience and interaction with college/school/ employer staff and their candidate group.
