This Modern Apprenticeship supports you to work in The Life Sciences and Chemical Sciences sectors in Scotland.
You'll gain a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 5 or Level 6 .
Scientific, Technical and Formulation Processing SVQ at SCQF Level 6
During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to;
Contribute to effective team working
Follow health and safety procedures for scientific or technical activities
Contribute to the application of problem-solving techniques
You will also develop the following core skills:
Communication
Numeracy
Information and Communication Technology
Problem Solving
Working with Others
These transferrable skills are useful for working in other roles like dental practice management.
This Modern Apprenticeship gives you a number of options to progress in a range of different ways. This includes;
Full/part time study at College
Company in-house training to meet the very specific demands of sector
Other Engineering/Construction related frameworks
Higher level Frameworks for Engineering or Construction at SCQF Level 6 or Level 7
Engineering Technical Framework at SCQF Level 8 including Careers Skills to further enhance promotion and career prospects
Entry requirements
Whilst there are no specific sectorial requirements for entry on to this Modern Apprenticeship, individual candidates may find it useful to have undertaken basic skills off-the-job courses, which could aid in using hand tools correctly or demonstrating understanding of safety & regulations. Therefore candidates are likely to require some mandatory safety training either pre-employment, or have access to safety training through their immediate employer, or any specific preemployment training programmes arranged for the Industry.
How does it work?
You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider.
How long will it take?
This Modern Apprenticeship will take between 12 and 24 months to complete.
