Once your contract is activated, your Development and Delivery Executive (DDE) will visit and talk you through the Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) programme requirements.

Complete the necessary paperwork

You should first familiarise yourself with the way we monitor contract compliance. You should also complete the mandatory FA Learner Registration Formand FA Equality Monitoring Form.

If it's relevant for your apprenticeship, you, the employer and learner should sign the Work-Based Learning Declaration. You can find these in our publications area.

Upload information or documents

There are two ways of uploading, depending on the document:

  1. Upload the completed FA Learner Registration Form and the Work-Based Learning Declaration document to the Funding Information and Processing System (FIPS).
  2. Enter the information only from the FA Equality Monitoring Form Section A into FIPS then securely discard that part. You should retain Section B.

Prepare for the apprentice starting

Before the apprentice starts, you need to set them up with an awarding body including the Scottish Qualifications Authority Group award, FA certificate and the awarding body units which make up the apprenticeship.
