Career Development Technical
This Technical Apprenticeship is suitable for people with some experience in the career development sector.
It addresses the workforce development needs of a wide range of organisations offering career information, advice and employability support.
Your employee will study for a Technical Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 9. Their qualification will include:
core units of an SVQ in career information, advice and employability support at SCQF Level 9
work experience in a dynamic and exciting industry
There are no set entry requirements for this Technical Apprenticeship. However it would be beneficial for candidates to have completed the Modern Apprenticeship in Career Development, or to have appropriate experience.
Progression and development
After completing this apprenticeship, your employees will be equipped to take on a diverse range of roles, such as:
employment and skills co-ordinator
employer engagement co-ordinator
placement liaison officer
How does it work?
Apprentices will learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. They’ll also study with a college or other learning provider.
Cost and funding
We contribute towards training costs
We do this by paying the learning provider throughout the apprenticeship.

An enhanced funding contribution is paid for employees aged 16 to 19. For those who are disabled and care-experienced, this is extended up to and including age 29.

Who pays the apprentice?
Like any other employee of your business, you’ll pay the Modern Apprentice's wages. This is not set by SDS, but we encourage all employers to pay the Living Wage. Remember, you must pay at least the National Minimum Wage.
How long will it take?
It will take between 12 and 24 months to complete.
