What's Facilities Services like?

Study for a facilities services apprenticeship and be part of a sector that is dedicated to improving customer care.   

Working in the facilities services industry involves maintaining a secure environment within places like hospitals, offices and schools. You’ll learn how to improve the security of a building and repair complex safety systems. Increase your engineering knowledge and discover how to maintain a clean work setting.   

There’s a range of facilities services jobs for people who enjoy coming up with practical solutions. Work as a facilities operative and help with the upkeep of different properties such as shelters and care homes. Or you could become an estate operative and provide cleaning support.  

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship. However, it is helpful to have an interest in the facilities services sector.  

How does it work?

You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider. 

How long will it take?

The Modern Apprenticeship will take between 12 and 24 months to complete
