What's Paralegal Practice like?

The apprenticeship is for anyone who wants to work as part of Scotland’s legal system. Learn how to prepare law-related documents for different cases. Discover what it means to support attorneys and government agencies. Improve your investigative skills by researching legal principles.  

 There are a variety of jobs on offer in Scotland’s paralegal sector. Become a family paralegal and work on cases that involve pre-nuptial agreements, child care and civil partnerships. Work as a personal injury solicitor and help people who have been hurt in work-related accidents. Take on the role of a legal assistant and carry out administration duties in a busy firm. The apprenticeship is designed to give you the skills necessary to succeed in the world of law. 

Entry requirements

There are no set requirements for this apprenticeship. But it is beneficial to have an interest in the law and a desire to improve your legal awareness.  

How does it work?

You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider. 

How long will it take?

This Modern Apprenticeship will take between 12 and 24 months to complete.
