What's Production Chef like?
This apprenticeship will ensure that individuals have the right skills, knowledge and experience needed to produce high quality dishes and products consistently to specifications, often in large volumes across a wide variety of hospitality and catering operations. It also provides individuals with a flexible progression route to SCQF Level 6 to attract and retain production chefs from a diverse range of groups.
You'll gain a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 5.

Your qualification includes:
SVQ in Production Chef at SCQF Level 5
As part of your apprenticeship, you will achieve 5 different Work Place Core Skills at SCQF Level 4.
You will also complete a Basic: Health & Safety at Work Certificate and Food Allergen / Allergy Awareness Certificate.
Completion of this apprenticeship provides a clear progression pathway to the new Senior Production Chef Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this apprenticeship but an interest in hospitality would be beneficial.
How does it work?
You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider.
How long will it take?
This Modern Apprenticeship will take between 12 and 24 months to complete.
