What's the qualification?

SCQF Level 10

You will gain a Modern Apprenticeship in Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10.

Your qualification includes:

  • core units of an SVQ in Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10 

  • a range of optional units

What will I learn?

During your apprenticeship, you’ll learn how to:   

  • provide housing support for different people 

  • develop lasting bonds with your colleagues 

  • nurture and support children  

  • provide residential support  

This apprenticeship will help you develop core skills such as:   

  • communication 

  • problem-solving 

  • time management

  • working in a team 

These transferable skills can be used for other roles such as housing support officer or residential care support.

Where could it take me?

This apprenticeship gives you plenty of options. You could continue your education with other qualifications or progress into a full time career.  

Further study: Continue your studies at university with a degree in social care. Your experience will support the application.   

Straight to work: Use your knowledge and move into a senior social care position. You could go on to the following jobs:  

  • Senior support worker

  • Social services manager 

  • Family placement officer 

  • Senior care coordinator 

  • Mental health social worker 

  • Residential care officer

How does it work?

You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider. 

How long will it take?

This Modern Apprenticeship will take between 12 and 24 months to complete.
