A construction apprenticeship can give you the skills to work in different jobs. Whether you’d like to become a civil engineer or work as a roofer in a residential environment, there are plenty of opportunities in the construction sector.
You will gain a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6 or Level 7.

Your qualification includes:
Construction: Technical at SCQF Level 6, including a topic such as: Surveying, Site Technical Support, Estimating, Built Environment Design or Occupational Work Supervision
work experience in a dynamic industry
Construction: Technical at SCQF Level 7, including a topic such as: Surveying, Site Technical Support, Estimating, Built Environment Design or Occupational Work Supervision
work experience in a dynamic industry
During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:
survey construction sites
work with construction equipment
carry out industry safety practices
create lasting bonds with co-workers
develop knowledge of the construction industry
You’ll also develop the following core skills:

These transferable skills are useful for working in other jobs such as civil engineering and road maintenance.
This Modern Apprenticeship gives you plenty of options. You could study for more qualifications or find a construction job.
Further education: Carry on your education by studying for a BSC in civil engineering. Your experience will support your university application.

Although there are no set entry requirements for this apprenticeship, it’s helpful to have an interest in the construction sector.
How does it work?
You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider.
How long will it take?
This Modern Apprenticeship will take 12 to 24 months to complete.
