Scotland’s plumbing industry is one of the most diverse in the country, so there are many job opportunities. Become a project manager and supervise your own plumbing team. Work as a chartered engineer and develop your own engineering solutions.
You'll gain a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF level 7 in Plumbing and Heating.

Your qualification includes:
core units of an SVQ in Domestic Plumbing and Heating at SCQF Level 7
work experience in a practical and dynamic industry
During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:
install hot and cold water
manage central heating systems
work with different weathering systems
increase your own plumbing knowledge
carry out best plumbing practices
You'll also develop the following core skills:

teamwork

These transferrable skills are useful for working in other jobs such as sales engineer and estimator.

Entry requirements
To qualify for this apprenticeship, you need to pass an industry-approved multiple-choice entry test. You need to achieve a 70% pass mark. It includes:
a spatial awareness test
a calculation and measurement test

You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or another learning provider.
