This Modern Apprenticeship is suitable for people who are new to the supply chain sector, as well as those who have experience but want to further their careers. It’s suitable for employees working in roles such as supply chain officer, import/export clerk, warehouse team leader and team leader.

Entry requirements
There are no set entry requirements for this apprenticeship but candidates should be working in a relevant supply chain role and have the support of their employer. A National Progression Award in supply chain operations at SCQF Level 5 is beneficial but not essential.
Progression and development
Employees who complete this Modern Apprenticeship can progress to the Technical Apprenticeship in supply chain management. They can also move on to higher education.
On completing the apprenticeships, your employees will have the skills needed for the following types of roles:
Supply chain officer
Import/export clerk
Warehouse team leader
Team leader
How does it work?
Apprentices will learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. They’ll also study with a college or other learning provider.
Cost and funding
We contribute towards training costs
We do this by paying the learning provider throughout the apprenticeship.

An enhanced funding contribution is paid for employees aged 16 to 19. For those who are disabled and care-experienced, this is extended up to and including age 29.

Who pays the apprentice?
Like any other employee of your business, you’ll pay the Modern Apprentice's wages. This is not set by SDS, but we encourage all employers to pay the Living Wage. Remember, you must pay at least the National Minimum Wage.
How long will it take?
It will take between 12 and 24 months to complete.
