What's the qualification?

You will gain a qualification in facilities management at SCQF level 7. The qualification includes:  

  • core units of aSVQ in facilities management at SCQF level 7 
  • a range of work experience in a dynamic industry

What will I learn?

During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:   

  • Establish and monitor the facilities required by the client 
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility 
  • Support equality, diversity and individual rights in the workplace 
  • Manage facility management projects 
  • Create contingency plans for unforeseen disasters 
  • Manage a budget 
  • Manage and monitor the efficient use of energy

This Modern Apprenticeship gives a variety of options. Carry on your studies with a relevant facilities management degree or go into full-time work.   

Further education: Continue to improve your skills by studying for a bachelor’s degree in facilities management.  Your experience will support your university application.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship. But it is useful to have completed a relevant qualification such as an apprenticeship in facilities services at SCQF level  4 

Duration

The Modern Apprenticeship will take between 12-24 months to complete.
