What's the qualification?

You will gain a qualification at SCQF level 5 and 6 in land engineering. The qualifications include:  

  • Core units of aSVQ in land engineering at SCQF level 5 or 6  
  • A work placement in a versatile and dynamic industry

What will I learn?

During your apprenticeship, you'll learn how to:   

  • Develop an awareness of environmental good practice 
  • Prepare and operate a tractor with attachments 
  • Prepare and operate a powered vehicle like a combine harvester  
  • Prepare feed and water supplies for livestock  

You will develop the following core skills:

Where could it take me?

This Modern Apprenticeship gives you a variety of options. Continue your studies with a technical apprenticeship in engineering or go into full-time work.   

Further education: Improve your knowledge of green environments by studying for a bachelor’s degree in horticulture or plant care. This could lead to a higher qualification like a Masters in agricultural science. Your experience will support your university application.
