Continuous improvement in delivery and performance

This section will help you monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of your apprenticeships. You'll also learn how performance data and stakeholder feedback can improve the quality of your delivery.

Apprentice Voice insight surveys

SDS sends automated surveys to all apprentices (Foundation, Modern and Graduate) when they reach three specific points in their apprenticeship:

  • The in-training survey – around six months after their start date, to ask how they found out about their apprenticeship, why they decided to start it, their perceptions of quality of training and their satisfaction with training.

  • The leavers survey around three months after they leave, to understand post-training destinations and immediate outcomes and benefits. This will also be sent to people who leave training early and don't complete their training, to try to understand the reasons.

  • The short-term outcomes survey – around 15 months after leaving, to understand short-term outcomes and benefits. This will be sent to those who complete and also those who leave before completing.

The surveys are completed online and will be accessible on all devices including phones and tablets.

Benefits of taking part

Apprentice Voice surveys provide a large volume of data, allowing more in-depth analysis, including looking at changes over time.

As a provider you can embed this information within induction and review processes, highlighting to apprentices that they'll receive surveys throughout their training and also after they've left.
