Your qualification includes, depending on your chosen pathway:
Diploma in Digital Technology: Software Development at SCQF Level 8
Diploma in Digital Technology: Cyber Security at SCQF Level 8
Diploma in Digital Technology: Data Analytics at SCQF Level 8
Diploma in Digital Technology: IT Support at SCQF Level 8
Diploma in Digital Technology: Network Infrastructure at SCQF Level 8
Diploma in Digital Technology: Cloud Infrastructure at SCQF Level 8
What will I learn?
You’ll be expected to achieve a range of learning outcomes by the end of your apprenticeship, depending on the pathway you choose. You could, for example:
design appropriate software solutions
plan, design, execute and report on software tests
identify and investigate suspect activities
detect and deal with cyber or data security incidents
prepare data for analysis
manage data assets through secure use and storage of data
use project management tools to plan, organise and monitor the progress of activities
This apprenticeship also helps you develop meta-skills. These help to support high performance, resilience, self-awareness and continuous learning.
Where could it take me?
Straight to work: When you complete this apprenticeship at SCQF Level 8, you achieve a competence-based qualification. This puts you in a strong position to apply for jobs within the industry.
Further education: After finishing this apprenticeship and earning a diploma, you can apply for further or higher education courses.
Graduate Apprenticeships: You could apply for a Graduate Apprenticeship in a related area, such as:
Entry requirements
To enter this Modern Apprenticeship, you should:
be at least the statutory school-leaving age for Scotland
hold qualification(s) at a minimum of SCQF Level 6, or equivalent
be able to demonstrate you have the numeracy skills to meet the learning outcomes
Although, an employer can also consider your existing workplace skills and experience. If you’re changing careers or upskilling, an employer may take this into account. This means employers can open up the opportunities to more potential applicants.
How does it work?
You’ll learn in a real-world environment and earn a wage. You’ll also study with a college or other learning provider.
How long will it take?
We expect this apprenticeship to take around 24 months to complete.
